Merchants Fleet Celebrates Growth, New Headquarters at Inaugural Fleet Summit ‘19
For its first-annual Fleet Summit, Merchants Fleet focused on the future – the future of the industry, the company’s forward-looking emphasis on growth and innovation, and a new chapter in a state-of-the-art headquarters – while also celebrating the qualities that have kept it in business for over 50 years. Fleet Summit ’19 was part celebration, part industry-deep dive as Merchants Fleet clients, employees, and business partners gathered to mark the company’s rapid growth and get a glimpse at what is still ahead.
The event opened on Wednesday with an overview of the new headquarters and a presentation by CEO Brendan P. Keegan about the future of fleet. He discussed how the fleet industry is being impacted by mobility forces like multi-modal transportation, intelligence, connectivity, and efficiency – and how fleets must adapt to these challenges quickly. To help companies adapt to these challenges, Merchants has positioned itself as a FleetTech partner.
“As a FleetTech partner to our clients, we sit right at the crosshairs of fleet and technology. It is our job to connect our clients to a fleet ecosystem of solutions, partners, and technologies that fleet managers need to do their jobs better and better every year. It is our full-time job to make sense of these forces impacting fleet, provide simple solutions, and stay out in front of new technologies.”
Following the presentation, Fleet Response received Merchants Fleet’s Supplier Excellence Award for its 25 years of partnership, and Ford, General Motors, Nissan, FCA, Subaru, Volkswagen, Toyota, and Hyundai were also recognized.
The afternoon was filled with educational sessions by Capax Global, Adrian Steel, Transportation Solutions of America (TSOA), FCA, Ford, AAA Work Trucks, Bridgestone, Driverge Vehicle Innovations, Nissan, Goodyear, and Southern New Hampshire University. After having a chance to meet Merchants Fleet’s team members, clients and attendees celebrated the new headquarters with a public ribbon cutting ceremony that included remarks from New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu.
“The investments you’re making here, they are going to last a generation into this company,” said the Governor. “It’s really awesome, the fact that you’re willing to invest that capital, to take the company in a good direction. What you’ve created here is a terrific model. Congratulations to the Singer family, to Brendan, to the entire team, to all of you for making this happen.”
The evening concluded with a barbeque dinner, tours of the building, and a fall festival complete with a cash cube, caricature artist, and inflatable games for attendees and Merchants employees.
The next Fleet Summit is slated for September 2020, and sponsorship opportunities are available now. For information, please email [email protected].
